1. Who we are

Sparkrevise is operated by Sparkrevise Ltd. We are the data controller for the personal information described in this policy.

This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and the choices and rights you have.

2. What we collect

We collect only what we need to run the platform:

  • Account details — your username, email address and password (stored in a protected form).
  • Learning activity — topics studied, quiz and exam attempts, scores, progress, streaks and badges.
  • Classroom details — if your tutor adds you to a group, we store the group membership so your tutor can see your progress.
  • Subscription details — your plan status and payment records. Card details are handled by our payment provider and never stored by us.
  • Messages you send to our AI tutor and our support chat, so we can respond and improve the service.

3. How we use it

We use your information to provide and personalise your revision experience, track your progress, show you relevant content, run live classroom quizzes, manage your subscription, respond to support requests, and keep the platform safe and secure.

We also use anonymous, aggregated statistics to understand how the platform is used and improve it.

4. Our legal bases

We process your information to perform our contract with you (providing the service you signed up for), to pursue our legitimate interests (improving and securing the platform), to comply with legal obligations, and, where required, with your consent.

5. Sharing your information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with trusted providers who help us run the platform — for example secure hosting, email delivery, AI processing and payment services — and only to the extent they need it.

If you are part of a classroom, your tutor and your training provider can see your learning progress and quiz results. We may also share information where the law requires it.

6. Cookies and local storage

We use essential cookies and local storage to keep you signed in and to remember your preferences, such as dark mode and focus mode. We do not use them for advertising.

You can clear this data at any time in your browser settings, though you may be signed out as a result.

7. How long we keep it

We keep your account and learning records for as long as your account is active. If you close your account, we delete or anonymise your personal information, except where we need to keep limited records to meet legal, tax or accounting requirements.

8. Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

  • Access a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
  • Ask us to delete your information, where we do not have a legal reason to keep it.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing, including processing based on legitimate interests.
  • Withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent.
  • Complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) if you are unhappy with how we have handled your data.

9. Keeping your data safe

Your data is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored on secure, access-controlled infrastructure. We limit access to your information to those who need it to operate and support the platform.

10. Young people

Sparkrevise is intended for learners aged 16 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16 without the involvement of a parent, guardian or training provider.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you before they take effect.

12. Contact

If you have any questions about this policy or wish to exercise your rights, please contact us through the support chat in the app.
